Goods Stock Plan
Overview and Settings
Goods stock plan allows you to forecast balances, taking into account planned receipts (for example, purchase plans) and planned expenses (for example, sales plans).
To enable goods stock plans, go to Master data and settings – Budgeting and planning and select the Goods stock plans checkbox.
Goods stock planning allows you to:
- Enter the balance as of a specific date according to the frequency of the scenario.
- Break down inventory by warehouse.
- Calculate the planned closing balance, planned opening balance, and planned closing shortage.
The goods stock plan is valid for the entered period and for all subsequent periods until a more up-to-date plan. To obtain balance, data is taken from the most up-to-date goods stock plan.
The following operands and sources used in plan population options become available if the plans are enabled: Planned opening balance, Planned closing balance, Planned closing shortage, Actual balance, and Goods stock plan.
Example: Today is December 2nd. We want to understand what stock balances are projected for January. As of December 1, we have an actual balance of 30 pieces of "Product 1". A sales forecast (for 10 pcs) and a kitting schedule (for 20 pcs) are entered for December. Taking into account these documents, at the end of December - beginning of January we will receive 30 -10 + 20 = 40 pieces.

Specifics of Filling Goods Stock Plans
To fill in the initial goods stock plan, you can use the Actual opening balance source or operand. To fill in the planned data in the future, it is recommended that you use the Planned opening balance operand.
Planned opening balance is calculated as up-to-date values of planned balances plus the cumulative total of all receipts minus all expenses registered after the date of the relevant goods stock plan:
- Expense plans are all shipment plans: Sales forecasts, Kitting schedules (components), and Reverse kitting schedules (kits).
- Receipt plans are all receipt plans: Purchase plans, Kitting schedules (kits), and Reverse kitting schedules (components).
Planned closing shortage - closing balance of the period is calculated, and if it turns out to be negative, this number is considered a shortage. If the balance is positive, then the shortage is 0. Planned closing shortage can be applied in the receipt plans: purchase plan and kitting schedule.
Example: you create a purchase plan and use the Planned closing shortage operand to fill it. There are a goods stock plan for 50 pieces of 1C:Enterprise licenses and a sales forecast for 51 pieces of 1C:Enterprise licenses for the same period.
Fill out the purchase plan from formula using Planned closing shortage.
The system offers to purchase 1 piece of 1C:Enterprise licenses to cover the planned shortage.
