Behaviour Management

Overview

With the Behaviour module, you can register positive and negative student actions in the system, inform the parents about them, and accrue points for each action to manage the overall student behaviour.

Behaviour Benchmarks

Student behaviour can be positive (for example, being helpful to a teacher) or negative (for example, using foul language, fighting, or being late for classes). In the system, you can register different types of behaviour and assign points for them. This is called "behaviour benchmarks". The higher the point, the more negative/positive the behaviour is.
To create behaviour benchmarks:
  1. Go to School and click Behaviour benchmarks.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Enter the transgression Code and Description.
  4. Specify, whether this behaviour is Positive or Negative.
  5. Specify the number of Points you want to accrue for such transgression. Important: when the points type is negative, remember to add minus sing to the points.

Learner Behaviour Records

Every time you want to register student behaviour in the system, you need to register learner behaviour records and inform the parents about it.

Creating Lerner Behaviour Records

To create learner behaviour records:
  1. Go to School and click Learner behaviour records.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Select the Educator and Class.
  4. Specify, whether this behaviour is Positive or Negative.
  5. Add a Note if needed.
  6. On the Students tab, click Add and add one or several students involved.
  7. Click Add below to add one or several behaviour benchmarks.
  8. To add an attachment, click Attach file, select the file from disk, and click OK.
  9. Click Post and close.
The parents will receive the push notification provided they have downloaded Rise Communicator to their smartphones.

Importing Lerner Behaviour Records

You can register several learner behaviour records document at once. This might be useful if you need to register records for many students at once.

Before you import learner behaviour records into the system, you need to prepare an Excel file for import. Below is the example of the file (we recommend that you use the same structure to prepare your file) and some useful tips:
  1. Make sure that classes and grades are set up correctly in Rise prior to the import.
  2. Make sure that Educators' names and surnames correspond to their details in School Staff in Rise.
  3. When putting multiple students, use a semicolon.
To actually import learner behaviour records into Rise:

  1. Go to School and click Learner behaviour records under Behavior.
  2. Click Import at the top.
3. Click Read from file and select the file from your computer. Click Ok.
4. The imported info will appear on the right part of the screen. In this step, you will need to match the attributes listed on the left side of the screen with the corresponding columns on the right side. For each attribute, identify the appropriate column and enter its number in the designated field next to the attribute. For example, if the Educator attribute corresponds to the first column on the right, enter number 1 under Column next to Educator.
5. If your file has a header, make sure the "My data has header" checkbox is selected at the bottom.
6. The list of data for import will be displayed on the screen. You can select only those rows that you want to import. In this example, only rows 1 and 2 are selected for import. Once you select the required rows or all of them, click Import.
7. The system will inform you what data was imported. You can double-click any document to open it.
